Description / Scope / Mission

The Financial Accountant is responsible for performing comprehensive financial analysis to support the Company’s financial objectives.  This position involves complex analysis and requires a deep understanding of financial principles and advanced analytical skills.  The Financial Accountant will collaborate with various departments, contribute to financial planning, and provide actionable insight for senior management

Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities

• Track capital project budget, forecasts, and ROI reporting.  Manage asset creation, monthly spend tracking and in-service activities 
• Assist with rolling monthly forecasts, quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.  Analyze trends and drivers, explain budget and/or forecast vs actual variances
• Create and manage P&L reporting by Customer line.  ROI for Customer Business Opportunities
• Manage payroll processing bi-weekly and associated reporting requirements
• Assist Senior Accountant on monthly close process including balance sheet reconciliations, accrual and amortization entries, and other misc. analysis and reporting
• Support Company interim and year-end audit

Education / Certification / Qualifications / Experience

• Bachelor of Science in accounting required
  
  

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

• None.
  
  

 

Specific Knowledge: (Technical/Product, Organizational and Interpersonal)

• Working knowledge of ERP and financial systems
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.  Communicating insights is just as important as generating them
• Experience in fast paced environment with changing priorities, tasks and customer conditions
• Experience in forecasting preferred.
  
  

TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED:

• Require use of computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse 2/3 of the time.  Copier, fax and telephone.
  
  

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PPE REQUIRED:

• There will be a normal office noise level.
• The position will require the use of safety glasses if working with personnel in the factory.
  
  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The position will require standing or walking up to 1/3 of the time.  The position will require sitting up to 2/3 of the time.  The position will require the use of hands to find, handle or touch 2/3 of the time or more.  The position requires talking or hearing 2/3 of the time or more.
