General Description:
The Analytical Lab Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, planning, developing, and directing quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives for the Analytical Laboratory. Specific Responsibilities & Duties:
- Promotes a safe working environment and adheres to Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures, company safety rules, Good Laboratory Practices (GLD’s), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) at all times.
- Provides a safe working environment and ensures all Analytical Lab personnel understands and adheres to Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures, company safety rules, Good Laboratories Practices (GLP’s), Common Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) at all times.
- Ensures that all procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s Quality Assurance procedures, so all testing is processed efficiently, and that approvals of in-process analytical tests are released on a timely basis to meet customer standards and requirements.
- Ensures the QA process aligns and supports product specifications and specific customer requirements.
- Develops, maintains, and ensures that in-process analytical material testing procedures (SOP’s) are current and up to date.
- Responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating, and maintaining the performance of the established processes and quality of results to improve the existing method of operation.
- Advises the production department on quality issues relating to the manufacturing process.
- Reviews daily production schedule and ensures required adjustments are performed if necessary, to reduce the number of corrections.
- Perform analytical tests on finished products, stability samples, raw materials, and contract manufactured material in compliance with GMP and as directed by the QC Specifications.
- Perform a variety of analytical methods using HPLC, GC, ICP, FTIR, UV/Vis, and a variety of wet chemistries following SOP of the internal test method, USP or customer specified methods.
- Responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical instrument and clearly communicating the problems with Sr. Lead Chemist or Lab Director.
- Perform method validation following established test methods. Participate in method validation, method development, and method transfer as needed.
- Perform calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment as directed by the Quality Assurance Director.
- Conduct laboratory work and associated record-keeping in a safe manner and in keeping with generally recognized GLP, GMP, and company & customer’s SOP.
- Follow internal and customer specifications.
- Write OOS report and Investigate problems presented in test results.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Capable of standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent.
- Bachelor of science; Chemistry field preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in Quality Control preferably in the analytical field.
- Must be able to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area. Maintains housekeeping in conformance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLD’s), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Full knowledge of working with and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation.
- Good time-management skills.
- Good English communications skills: speaking, reading, and writing.
- Advance PC Knowledge i.e. MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is preferred.
- Flexibility to work long hours during peak season or special schedules as needed to satisfy job requirements.
- Ability to multi-task and follow through on project assignments.
- Ability to quickly remedy procedural problems.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
