Manufacturing Production Supervisor - 2nd shift   Kdc/one in Groveport, OH is seeking our next Production Supervisor for 2nd shift. Located just a short commute from Columbus off of Rt 33., Kdc/one specializes in manufacturing and distributing some of your favorite health and beauty products. We are a state of the art, climate controlled and FDA regulated facility on the rise in Central Ohio.      Job Summary:   The Focused Factory Supervisor I supervises, organizes, directs and measures all activities within the production department to achieve the highest levels of safety, service, quality, and productivity for a designated shift.  This position will ultimately be responsible for the all the tactical plans and activities that achieve the strategic direction set forth by the Focus Factory Managers, Vice President of Operations and other applicable Senior Leadership.    Essential Job Functions: Motivates, coaches and develops the production team to deliver optimal results, continuous improvement, profitability, quality, service and overall operational excellence. Communicates performance expectations and delivers feedback as required.   Plans and manages, with the input of the Focus Factory Managers, the activities of the production workforce, including permanent and temporary employees, to ensure production schedules are met within quality, safety and operational standards.  Identifies, leads, and drives opportunities around equipment and/or methods to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), LEAN manufacturing principles, labor utilization and quality requirements. Controls operational costs, including but not limited to standard labor costs, inventory costs, scrap rates and equipment downtime, to ensure the production department operates within the set budget. Coordinates with other departments on planning and scheduling production runs, changeovers, preventative maintenance and work order assignments and other related activities. Collaborates with the Focus Factory Managers to establish and/or revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs) and best practices for the production department. Directs and performs all work in a manner that is consistent with the company’s quality system and FDA good manufacturing practices, includes maintaining a clean and orderly production area at all times. Coordinates and participates in root cause analysis on OEE shortfalls.  Develops and executes corrective actions that improve equipment performance, cost, quality, and customer service.     Follows, promotes and enforces KDC’s safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures.  Assists with safety investigations and corrective actions related to safety hazards and/or incidents. Contributes to the KDC University training plan and drives the execution of training to ensure all production employees have received necessary training and are following all applicable SOP’s, Work Instructions, and GMP procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Education & Experience: Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field highly preferred.  In lieu of degree, two years of experience in manufacturing and regulated environment considered. Two years supervisory experience required, preferably in a filling and packaging environment. SAP and HMI experience strongly preferred. Experience with LEAN manufacturing principles.    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to effectively build and lead a high-performing and engaged team. Strong oral and written communication skills, leadership skills and organizational skills.    Self-starter with strong work ethic, positive attitude and strong attention to detail. Strong communication (both written and oral), interpersonal, team building and organizational skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and manage time efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to promote and participate in a team-oriented and collaborative environment. Strong technical skills and experience in analytical problem solving. Ability to plan ahead to minimize potential issues that may affect the company’s growth objectives. Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) Good understanding of FDA Good Manufacturing Practices Regulations (GMP’s) and OSHA safety requirements. Minimum Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. Able to work overtime & weekends as required. Able to periodically work other shifts to support business needs.  Read, comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions, including SOPs. Working Conditions: Good working conditions; climate controlled. Exposure to frequent movement of motorized equipment throughout production floor, including electric pallet jacks, forklifts, etc. Wear hairnet, safety glasses, long pants, steel toe shoes/boots and any other uniform standards. Sit, bend, stoop, climb, and stand for long periods of time in one place. Lift items up to 50lbs.
