Material Handler I-Port Jervis Bulk/Material Handler Indirect
Title: Material Handler I
Reports To: Supervisor – Material Handling
Department: Operations
Supervises: N/A
Organizational Relationships: Logistics, Warehouse, Production, Mechanical Team.
Basic Function:
Efficiently and accurately support production lines with components and materials while also providing accurate and timely component returns and maintaining inventory integrity.
Responsibilities:
Employ strong interpersonal skills when interacting with others in the organization while promoting a positive environment.
Ability to read the daily schedule and determine what materials are needed for the assembly lines.
Ability to read and verify a factory work order to assure the proper materials are being used in all aspects of the assembly line.
Capable of organizing and staging supplies in a neat and orderly fashion.
Ability to use a computer and RF gun to properly locate and transfer customer/KDC-One items, and inventory as requested.
Responsible for efficiently staging materials and supplies, as a team or independently, in correct locations for the production lines.
Must manage time well and act proactively to ensure production lines do not run out of supplies or materials.
Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of finished goods to shipping or designated area.
Successfully process component returns regardless of final destination.
Must adhere to all G.M.P., GDP, and safety policies.
Daily responsibility of maintaining a clean and organized work area. (sweeping, mopping, removing garbage, keeping aisles clear, floor free of pallet strapping, etc.)
Responsibilities continued:
Must be able to work Saturdays and overtime based on the needs of the business.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School or equivalency diploma.
Capable of learning basic computer operations and data entry.
Some experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, performing material handling activities; one year of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Basic organizational, mathematics and English skills.
Must be able to lift/pull and push.
Must have and maintain an acceptable attendance record.
Ability to learn, and successfully operate material handling equipment, i.e. manual pallet jack, power pallet jack.
