We are looking for a dynamic Senior Process Development Engineer to provide Engineering leadership and who will work closely with R&D and other disciplines to develop the batching processes and technologies required to bring new products to market and will also oversee the optimization of current batching processes for cost savings and improved efficiency opportunities.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or other technical/scientific field is required.
Minimum of five years of experience in a filling and packaging environment, preferably cosmetics, food/beverage or pharmaceutical
This position is responsible for:
Pilot scale-up of new R&D formulations, tech transfers of recipes and technologies to the site, preparation of documentation to support validation and large-scale manufacturing, batch troubleshooting, conducting root cause analysis and OOS (Out-of-Spec) investigations.
Understands and implements company and customer protocols and procedures in accordance with cGMP, FDA, and other applicable regulations.
Lead the transfer of new product launches including new formulations and tech transfers from the lab bench through pilot/scale-up into production size batches.
Performs Process Design & Detail Engineering including performing process simulations, design calculations, process optimization, sizing & selection of equipment etc. for awarded projects/business.
Provides consulting and guidance in investment opportunities through to concept selection (Identify/Assess/Select phases) of major capital projects to ensure a smooth transition to Define phase (process flowsheets, process datasheets, P&IDs).
Author manufacturing instructions (MIs) for compounding utilizing strong understanding of equipment, critical process parameters, in-process tests etc.
Author and execute engineering studies and validation protocols.
Develop competencies of other process engineering team members through mentorship and focus to grow organizational capabilities.
Develop expertise with current batch processes and equipment in order to serve as a resource for technical support and troubleshooting as issues arise.
Identify process optimization opportunities and new technologies with the goal of reducing costs and improving production efficiencies.
Utilize knowledge of processes and equipment to assist on bid packages for new business, including evaluation of batching capacity for current and future businesses
End-to-end Project Management, from concept/costing through completion, with a focus on delivering scope, budget, and timing.
Develop relationships with a variety of outside contractors and site automation/process control engineers to ensure multiple reliable quotes can be obtained for each new project.
