About KD Care:
KD Care Community ABA Services is a rapidly growing provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with autism. As we expand to serve more families across Wayne County, we are seeking a Credentialing & Compliance Specialist with direct experience in the ABA field to support onboarding, credentialing, and compliance functions for clinical and field staff.
Position Overview:
The Credentialing & Compliance Specialist will oversee the entire credentialing and compliance process for BCBAs, RBTs, and other ABA personnel. This includes managing documentation, coordinating payor enrollments, ensuring staff meet all Medicaid and commercial insurance requirements, and maintaining ongoing compliance for audits and billing readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate onboarding of clinical staff, ensuring all credentialing documents are collected and verified
- Complete and submit Medicaid and commercial insurance credentialing applications for BCBAs and RBTs
- Track certification renewals (e.g., RBT, BCBA, CPR, TB tests, background checks)
- Maintain up-to-date and audit-ready digital credentialing files
- Coordinate required trainings and ensure compliance with KD Care and payor requirements
- Communicate credentialing status with billing, HR, and clinical leadership
- Prepare for and support external audits (DWIHN, Medicaid, etc.)
- Ensure that all staff files meet Michigan Medicaid and DWIHN credentialing standards
- Assist with offboarding credentialing documentation for inactive employees
Requirements:
- 1 year of credentialing or compliance experience in an ABA setting required
- Familiarity with Medicaid credentialing, including BCBA and RBT enrollment
- Strong knowledge of ABA-specific documentation and compliance standards
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficient with spreadsheets, file management systems, and secure email platforms
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with payors such as DWIHN, BCN, Aetna, or Meridian
- Familiarity with CentralReach, TherapyNotes, or other ABA practice management systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA and Michigan-specific ABA regulations
