What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Attendant position at KDG Property Management?
KDG Property Management is hiring a Property Attendant for its portfolio of managed apartment and mixed-use buildings. The role will primarily involve cleaning the buildings on a daily basis, helping with apartment turns, and assistance with some work orders. Other duties include snow shoveling / salting, basic landscaping needs, and helping out the Maintenance Technician with certain projects.
The Property Attendant will cover our entire multifamily and mixed-use portfolio of approximately 10 different properties, all of which are scattered within a 5 to 10-mile radius around the city of Chicago. A personal vehicle is required for transportation between properties. A gas and cell phone stipend will be provided in addition to the base hourly pay.
This position will work independently and report to the Property Manager. We are looking for someone who has a wide range of skills, strong work ethic, and ability to keep our buildings and common areas in top shape at all times.
Position Requirements
- Experience and ability to complete a wide range of cleaning tasks, including carpet cleaning, apartment cleaning, some light maintenance tasks such as small touch-up paint jobs, and snow shoveling in the winter. Experience in these areas is preferred.
- Ability to communicate in writing and verbally with the Property Manager and with tenants
- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment necessary to complete tasks
- Ability to use an iPhone or Android phone to respond to emails/text messages, manage work orders in the property management application, track time, and communicate with the Property Manager and tenants
- Valid drivers license and vehicle to travel between properties

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Complete daily responsibilities, including cleaning hallways and lobby areas inside of our buildings – you will be responsible for cleaning each building throughout the work week
- Apartment turnover cleans between residents – this position is expected to leave our apartments looking clean and ready for new tenant move-ins, including any light maintenance items as needed
- Custodial work - mop/vacuum common areas, keep building exterior clean of trash/debris, clean carpets, snow shoveling & salting when required, landscaping, trash removal
