Warehouse Manager

Direct Reports : Counter Salesperson, Delivery Driver, Warehouse Personnel
Position Summary
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of materials. This role ensures operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in warehouse operations, team management, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee receiving, storage, order picking, and shipping processes.
- Ensure accurate inventory management, including periodic audits and adjustments.
- Maintain an organized warehouse layout to maximize efficiency.
- Report inventory discrepancies and resolve shortages with the Purchasing Department.
Team Leadership & Operational Oversight
Supervise and support warehouse staff, delivery drivers, and counter personnel.Hire, train, and evaluate employees, ensuring compliance with company policies.Monitor performance, conduct reviews, and recommend personnel decisions to leadership.Develop and implement operating procedures for warehouse efficiency.Logistics & Distribution
Schedule and optimize delivery routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.Approve price discounts on counter sales as needed.Safety & Compliance
Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA and D.O.T. standards.Conduct safety training, inspections, and accident investigations.Ensure all drivers have valid Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs) as required.Oversee equipment maintenance and authorize necessary repairs.Additional Duties
Act as the company’s Safety Director , implementing best practices and corrective actions.Support counter sales and phone inquiries as needed.Perform other duties as assigned by the President.Qualifications & Experience
Required : High School Diploma or GED; at least 1 year of supervisory experience in distribution .Preferred : Associate’s degree and 2 years of warehouse supervisory experience in the electrical components industry .Required Licenses : Valid Driver’s License ( CDL preferred ).Skills : Proficiency in warehouse equipment operation (forklifts, pallet jacks).Physical Requirements : Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.Performance Metrics
