Position Summary: The EHS Manager ensures compliance and provides support to employees through the development and implementation of safety programs and initiatives. This position is responsible for ensuring that all work performed at USCD is done in a safety manner. This position will develop and implement safety trainings and programs, monitor safety regulations, and provide support to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations for each location.
Essential Job Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities
- Manages and maintains day-to-day safety programs and policies including auditing and regulatory recordkeeping/reporting; documents and investigates all incidents involving property damage, personal injury, safety violation, unsafe conditions and non-compliance activities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies and procedures in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Trains warehouse management, manages and motivates.
- Directs facility safety programs to protect employees against harm and maintain safe working conditions.
- Formulates and suggests work safety standards and enforces procedures.
- Directs activities of safety committee and provides safety training.
- Advises management on corrective action for safety incidents.
- Provides technical safety support and information to all employees.
- Identifies company safety training needs and develops and coordinates safety training programs.
- Supports employees in the selection of appropriate PPE
- Promotes safety awareness through internal company memoranda, and newsletters.
- Reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary.
- Analyze incident reports, lost-time injuries/illness and metrics, and worker’s compensation claims to implement changes that lead to a safer environment,
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years safety supervisor, coordinator or management experience- particularly in distribution.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in health/occupational safety or related field preferred
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
- Safety Professional Certification (ASP or CSP) preferred.
- 40% travel
- Proficient English speaking and writing preferred
- OSHA documentation recordkeeping experience
Compensation - Base Salary -starting at $80,000, depending on experience
