Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Food Runner to join our dynamic team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a Food Runner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that food and beverages are delivered promptly and accurately to our guests. Your passion for hospitality and commitment to guest satisfaction will help create memorable moments for our patrons. It is a job that requires strong communication with both the front of house and back of house. This position is responsible for the cleanliness, organization, stocking, and execution of the kitchen window.
Responsibilities
- Arrive to work punctually. Be in uniform- clean and pressed. Be impeccably groomed and ready to work- this includes hygiene, nails, hair, shoes, perfume, and the like. It also includes pens, wine key, and a lighter. Efficiently deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to the dining area, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met.
- Assist servers by providing support in bussing tables, refilling drinks, and responding to guest requests promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including clearing used dishes and resetting tables for new guests.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and communicate any special requests or dietary restrictions from guests.
- Uphold food safety standards by following proper food handling procedures at all times.
- Engage with guests in a friendly manner, providing excellent customer service to enhance their dining experience.
Skills
- Be able to manage a high volume of tickets from the kitchen printer. Understand which menu items are coming from which kitchen station, be able to coordinate the items from several stations in the kitchen to create a completed ticket that is then ready to travel to the table.
- Communicate server requests to the kitchen staff to ensure guest satisfaction. Communicate kitchen standards and capabilities to waitstaff to set the expectation properly to the guest.
- This position is the last set of eyes to guarantee the integrity of each dish, its being prepared to completion, cleanliness of plates, all necessary side components, etc.
- Manage the timely departure of all dishes by leading the food runners in their duties to maintain the order of the line and the delivery of all food items. Strong guest services skills with a focus on creating positive dining experiences.
- Knowledge of culinary practices and food handling procedures is preferred.
- Experience in bussing or hospitality roles is advantageous.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, including banquet service, is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with POS systems is beneficial but not required.
