Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Lowboy Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting heavy equipment and machinery while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and ensuring that deliveries are made on time and in excellent condition.
Duties
- Operate various types of vehicles including tractor-trailers and dump trucks to transport heavy equipment.
- Load, secure, and unload machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders as necessary, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Follow delivery schedules and routes as assigned while adhering to traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any issues that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to commercial driving.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type.
- Familiarity with tractor-trailers and dump trucks is preferred.
- Strong ability to load and unload heavy equipment and machinery safely and efficiently using chains and binders.
- Excellent navigation skills with a good understanding of local roadways.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of responsibility for safety and compliance.
- Attention to detail in maintaining logs and conducting vehicle inspections.
