What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Caretaker position at Kearney Area Animal Shelter?
We are seeking an Animal Care Team Member! We are looking to hire full and part time!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: cleaning cages, caring for all sizes of cats and dogs, doing laundry, working with dogs and/or cats, cleaning and maintaining shelter premises, and working with the public and volunteers. Some of your time will be spent working independently and self-management is critical. Self-motivating and taking pride in the quality of your performance are at the core of your success.
Position requirements: must be able to follow instructions and communicate well with staff members, bending, kneeling, physical lifting (must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds), attention to detail, strong work ethic and must have a passion for animals and animal welfare. Willingness and ability to learn dog behavior and training. Opportunity to work with both cats and dogs or specify working with one versus the other.
Impeccable attendance, and ability to show up every day and on time is a must.
