Under general supervision, assists with clerical duties, event/program facilitation and supervision, opening and closing the facility, customer service, custodial responsibilities, sports surface preparation, and concession operations for activities or events held in the Kearney SportsPlex, primarily on evenings and weekends. Work varies, requiring interpretive judgment with prescribed standards and procedures.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Depending on seasonal program assignment, duties may include but are not limited to: basic reception duties to make visitors feel welcome and provide rental check-ins; open and close the SportsPlex facility; provide excellent internal and external customer service; monitor the activities occurring within the facility; answer and direct telephone calls; assist with site facilitation for patrons, user groups and event organizers, schedule rentals; help direct users to location of rentals/events/programming; accept rental and admission fees; general janitorial and maintenance services including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping down floors, chairs and tables; routinely restock and clean restrooms and corridors; field/court set up and break down; concessions services to include: prepare simple food and beverage items; take and serve patron orders; prep and cleanup of equipment and surfaces; replenish and restock food/beverage inventory; operate and reconcile cash to register sales and stand inventory; collect payment and ensure accuracy; maintain required sanitation, health, and safety standards in all areas throughout the facility; respond and assist with emergency situations; work nights and weekends when required; and perform other duties as assigned.SUPERVISION - RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS: None.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors and the public.
