Kearney & Company is seeking a highly skilled DoD Audit Remediation Consultant to join our team in Alexandria, VA supporting one of the Federal government’s largest agencies!Duties include but are not limited to : Investigating and analyzing undistributed and unmatched transaction errors, pinpointing root causes and identifying corrective actions.Working closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, procurement, and IT, to understand transaction workflows and error origins.Demonstrating excellent writing and communication skills as significant time is spent drafting / updating communication artifacts (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Guides, white papers).Documenting error resolution steps and outcomes to support knowledge sharing and process improvement.Developing and maintaining user guides, FAQs, and other resources to aid in understanding and addressing unmatched transaction issues.Providing training and support to end-users on transaction processing and error resolution techniques.Demonstrating strong customer service skills and the ability to work in occasional high-pressure situations with short deadlines.Directing and reviewing the work of Senior Associates.Communicating status of project-related tasks to Team Lead and client.QualificationsRequired Qualifications : BA / BS / BBA degree from an accredited college / universityFour (4) years of progressive, relevant experienceAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret (or higher, such as Top Secret or TS / SCI) security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)Experience with DFASPreferred Qualifications : Experience researching and resolving undistributed and unmatched transactions at the Department of the Navy (DON)Experience working with DFAS Accounting Operations, Departmental Reporting, and Accounts Maintenance and ControlExperience working with DoD’s Advanced Analytics (Advana) platformExperience working with DoD collection and disbursing operationsAbility to independently research data reconciling variancesHighly proficient skills in MS ExcelExperience with SQL, Python, and Databricks for data querying and scriptingCPA or eligibility to sit for CPA certificationCertified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or other professional certification.OverviewExclusively focused on the Government, Kearney & Company provides financial services, including auditing, consulting, and technology services. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and / or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law.
