Product Excellence and Renewal Lab (PERLab) is Kearney's global dedicated practice for “everything product.” PERLab has a simple yet powerful mission to help our clients create products their customers fall in love with. With experts in product design, product development, sustainability, user experience, industrial design, Internet of Things (IoT), consumer insights, product engineering, packaging design, and manufacturing excellence, PERLab’s end-to-end capabilities can support client’s growth at any point in its product’s life cycle.
The PERL Vice President, Semiconductors, is a pivotal role in driving PERLab’s presence and impact in serving Electronics clients. This role will be instrumental in business development, identifying and securing new clients for Kearney, particularly in the semiconductor and defense sectors. The VP will take on a dual role as a client lead and subject matter expert, ensuring the successful delivery of high-impact projects. Additionally, the role involves shaping proprietary assets and solutions to strengthen Kearney’s offerings in this space, contributing to thought leadership and innovation.
Key responsibilities
- BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND PROJECT DELIVERY : Drive business development for PERLab by leveraging your network and expertise to unlock new client opportunities. Support fellow PERLab Partners as a subject matter expert in expanding client relationships. Lead standalone client projects, balancing client relationship management with managing on-ground consulting team to ensure successful delivery.
- Provide management consulting services to Kearney clients utilizing deep expertise in end-to-end profitability, product development, engineering, and manufacturing. Also advise clients on opportunities for portfolio, design, and margin improvement of products.
- Build counseling relationships with CXO-level clients in the capacity of trusted advisor.
- Direct multiple project teams as subject matter expert, pushing the teams’ thinking, goals, and deadlines while ensuring the quality of deliverables that will secure client buy-in.
- Conduct in-depth commercial performance evaluations of products and services. Gather and analyze data related to cost drivers, customer segments, product specifications, supply chain strategy, strategic sourcing strategy, SKU breadth, design trade-offs, organizational structure, and pricing levers to identify opportunities for step-change improvement in commercial, profitability or operating performance. Conduct market and competitor benchmarking studies.
- PRACTICE AND PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT : Enhance PERLab’s capabilities by strengthening its assets and solutions in the Electronics and Semiconductor space. Contribute to the development of cutting-edge methodologies, proprietary frameworks, and industry-leading solutions. Additionally, play a key role in mentoring and nurturing the next generation of practice leaders, fostering a strong talent pipeline.
- Develop and enhance intellectual capital, processes, and tools that drive Kearney commercialization efforts, project capacity, and training curriculum.
- Responsible for the personal development, coaching, and evaluation of middle and senior level consultants. Builds up the bench of future Kearney leaders.

Vice President Compensation - $265,000 - $295,000
It is important to note that at Kearney, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role. Individual salaries within each range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills. Kearney reviews compensation regularly and may adjust base salaries to reflect market competitiveness. In addition to salary, individuals may be eligible for a discretionary performance bonus.
