What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Injury Legal Assistant/Paralegal position at Kearney Law?
Our law firm is seeking a legal assistant/paralegal to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in and be able to assist our team with a wide range of tasks. The successful candidate will be highly organized and detail-oriented and will have exceptional verbal communication skills to work directly with attorneys and clients. The ideal candidate for this position will also be highly motivated with a passion for law looking for growth and advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and other litigation-related documents.
- Assist team in pre-suit negotiations, preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings.
- Conduct legal research to support case preparation.
- Organize and manage case files, documents, and exhibits.
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and other law firms.
- Review, analyze, and summarize medical records and other case materials.
- Use legal software and online systems for case management, document review, and docketing.
- Maintain calendars, meet deadlines, and document actions.
- Comply with all legal standards and regulations.
Qualifications:

- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, G Suite and legal software (preferably FileVine).
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and principles.
- Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team.
- Ability to network.
- Familiarity with real estate and/or probate a plus.
We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 depending on experience.
MUST HAVE Personal Injury experience.
