Job Details
Hospital in Central Nebraska is in need of an ER experienced nurse to begin.
RN will need to have experience in working an emergency room setting for a minimum of 2 years.
This will be a 12 hour nights position, 13 week contract with the possibility of extending.
Job Requirements
Minimum of 2 years experience in an emergency room setting.
BCLS and ACLS Required with PALS preferred.
Schedule Information
12 hour nights position.
Self scheduling - will allow for block scheduling.
Weekend Requirement : Every 3rd - possibly every other.
Holidays : Rotating holidays.
Unit Specific Information
Manager is very friendly and approachable.
Travelers must be strong but respectful to physicians and staff.
Additional Details
Unit : ER
beds / trauma bays : 2 Triage / 5 treatment / 1 trauma bay (No Trauma Designation yet but resources of a Level III)
patients per day : ~ 20 / day (however will see influx during flu season)
Ratios : 1 to 4
EMR : MediTech
Charge Nurse : YES - Traveler not expected to step into Charge role, however if they have experience would be open to
Nurse Aides / Paramedics : Nurse Aides (1 on for days and nights)
Security / Patient sitters : Security housed in registration in ER entrance 24 / 7
IV Team : Strong IV skills required
RT 24 / 7 : YES
Pharmacy 24 / 7 : On call (9pm) - working to be 24 / 7 in
Floating : No - May have MedSurg holds
Floor specific orientation : 1-2 days with a preceptor
Common diagnosis / Types of patients : Cardiac patients, not a lot of pediatrics but still be comfortable with that, will have frequent flyers but must remain compassionate.
