Our office is growing, and we need to add to our team. This is an entry-level position. **CONDUCTING JOB INTERVIEWS ON FEBRUARY 13TH AND FEBRUARY 14TH**
In this role, the employee with assist the Optometrist with patient care.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare patients to see the doctor by working up patient and performing ophthalmic testing, example: optos images, visual field testing, icare pressure reading, autorefraction, lensometry, color vision, stereo testing, etc.
- Obtain, confirm, and enter personal and medical data into RevolutionEHR.
- Assist with patient scheduling. Greeting patients, answering phones, and preparing patient charts.
- Pull insurance authorizations and confirm appointments.
- Communicate with patients regarding eyewear and materials.
- Contact lens training and education.
- Perform diagnostic testing and special testing as needed.
- Administer eye drops and eye medications as needed.
- Maintain and clean optometric equipment.
- Restock exam room supplies and keep all areas of practice tidy. Clean and disinfect office.
- Assist patients with frame selection and answer questions regarding materials and insurance benefits.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms and ocular medications.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- 1 year work experience
- Knowledge of optometric profession
- Computer and typing proficient
- Spanish speaking preferred
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated success in a retail, office environment addressing a broad spectrum of customer requirements and preferences.
- Demonstrated ability to establish positive patient rapport and build relationships to establish repeat customer-trends.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the proven ability to manage priorities in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and ensure that patient commitments/deadlines are met.
- Proficiency in utilization of automated equipment and systems standard to the optometry industry.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Must be physically able to sit for long periods of time, read a computer screen for long periods of time, reach, and lift up to 20 lbs. Hand dexterity, and eye and hand coordination critical. Employee is subject to inside environmental conditions. Employee’s schedule could include after hour projects, as needed. Travel, as needed.
