Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients in selecting eyewear, fitting and adjusting glasses, and ensuring optimal vision care. This role requires a blend of technical skills and customer service expertise to provide an exceptional experience for our clients. **MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE AS AN OPTICIAN**
Duties
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their needs and preferences.
- Measure patients' facial features to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses.
- Fit, adjust, and repair eyeglasses as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including prescriptions and eyewear orders.
- Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of anatomy to communicate effectively with patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care within the clinic setting.
- Assist patients with knowledge of insurance eligibility, scheduling appointments, and treatment options.
- Stay updated on the latest optical technologies and trends in eyewear.
- Provide education on proper eyewear care and usage.
- Provide education and training on proper contact lens care and usage.
Experience
- One year previous experience in a private practice optometry office
- Previous experience in retail sales is preferred
- Familiarity with medical coding systems, experience in RevolutionEHR a plus
- Understanding of physiology and anatomy related to vision care is beneficial.
- Experience with medical terminology will aid in effective communication with both patients and healthcare providers.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Bilingual is a plus.
