Job Description :
Position Overview : The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) provides the occupational therapy program with management and administration of the fieldwork program. As a full-time faculty member, the AFWC procures fieldwork sites, provides development to fieldwork educators, and monitors student fieldwork progress. The AFWC ensures the OTD program's compliance with ACOTE fieldwork requirements. The AFWC works closely with KGI's Office of Experiential Education and directly reports to the OTD Program Director.
Education and Experience :
The successful candidate will possess a doctoral degree from a recognized accredited program by the United States Department of Education and be a registered and licensed occupational therapist in the state of California. At least three years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist is required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities : Individuals must possess knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential function of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions may be performed, with or without, reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Ensure compliance with ACOTE fieldwork requirements.
- Procure and develop fieldwork education sites that fit the scope and sequence of didactic courses and curriculum design.
- Provide development to fieldwork educators to support student learning experiences.
- Place students in fieldwork sites.
- Support students while on fieldwork.
- Oversee administration of fieldwork requirements of affiliation agreements, student health records, site-specific requirements, and utilization of the healthcare education management system.
- Manage fieldwork courses.
- Engage in service activities for the Institute.
- Participate in scholarly research and program development activities in collaboration with OTD faculty.
- Demonstrate professional skills and interactions that support the mission and vision of the OTD program.

Ability to lift and carry short distances up to 20 lbs., for example, to lift or move office supplies, files, books, and packages.
Ability to drive locally. Occasionally, will be required to stand for prolonged periods at activities / events on and off-campus.
