The USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Southern California (USC Norris) was founded in 1971 and has been continuously funded as an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center since 1973. USC Norris has a rich tradition of collaborative research and serves as a major regional and national resource for cancer research, prevention, treatment and education.
The Molecular Genomics Core is looking for a highly motivated Lab Technician I to fill an immediate need within our Next Generation Sequencing technology group. This person will be expected to understand and follow protocols to process samples to produce high-quality sample processing for downstream Genomics applications and equipment. The candidate will be detail oriented, responsible and possess exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
Job Accountabilities :
This position will :
Preferred Field of Expertise : Background in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry or related field strongly preferred. Experience in Illumina Next-Generation Sequencing applications and hardware a strong plus. A working knowledge of laboratory equipment, project management and research protocols is required.

The hourly rate range for this position is $21.61 - $25.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational consideration.
