The annual base salary range for this position is 90,000-$100,000. JOB DESCRIPTION
- Design and coordinate programs that support student retention, academic success and individualized support throughout the medical school curriculum.
- Work with individual students to assess learning styles and individual strengths and weaknesses; prescribe individual academic work plans. Formulate plans to help students perform more effectively.
- Ensure that students are aware of learning tools and resources provided by KSOM.
- Design and deliver programs focused on study and learning skills and critical thinking skills to support the academic success of KSOM students. General areas of instruction include time management, knowledge organization, and test taking strategies.
- Work with appropriate individuals to assist in the development and management of student retention programs and provide a comprehensive plan for USMLE exams and NBME subject exam preparation.
- Manage overall tutorial and academic support services. Assist with the recruitment, training and supervision of tutors and assist with the development and administration of an evaluation of the services.
- Develop and implement systems for monitoring the academic progress of students. Provide statistical information, trends and reports to enhance programs and service delivery. Work closely with the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and the director of academic support services to ensure student success.
- Maintain student records in compliance with FERPA and keep accurate documentation of session, meetings, and other communication as appropriate.
- Collaborate with other departments within the Keck School of Medicine and across the University to provide comprehensive support to medical students.
- Serve as a member of departmental committees as appointed
- Serve as part of an overall student affairs team and perform other duties as needed.
- Conduct, present and publish research on the outcomes of student counseling initiatives at Keck School of Medicine. Write and submit grants to support student academic development services
