As the Assistant Center Manager, you will play a key leadership role in supporting the daily operations of a high-performing plasma collection center. Working closely with the Center Manager, you’ll help ensure excellence in quality, regulatory compliance, staffing, donor experience, and financial performance. Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Support all aspects of center operations including compliance, staffing, donor services, inventory, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with FDA cGMP (21CFR), EU Good Practice Guidelines, and KEDPLASMA SOPs.
- Maintain strict adherence to quality and safety protocols in line with FDA, EMEA, and other regulatory standards.
- Oversee donor programs, including titer testing and antibody screening.
- Manage inventory and equipment maintenance to ensure consistent and safe operations.
- Prepare for volume fluctuations and ensure proper staffing coverage.
- Perform daily checks and documentation for logs, quality controls, and shipping records.
People & Performance Management
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of center staff.
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of courtesy, professionalism, and respect in all donor and employee interactions.
- Handle scheduling, conflict resolution, and corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain accurate employee records and promote retention through a positive work environment.
Regulatory & Quality Oversight
- Participate in audits, deviation management, CAPA documentation, and compliance investigations.
- Respond to and resolve quality or operational issues including freezer excursions.
- Ensure all required reports (e.g., donor fees, inventory logs, production metrics) are completed and submitted accurately.
- Open and close the center, manage cash logs, and maintain secure documentation procedures.
- Support Center Manager with fiscal oversight and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Life Sciences, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 1 year of leadership experience, ideally in plasma/blood collection or another regulated healthcare environment.
Knowledge of FDA, CLIA, cGMP regulations is preferred.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable with Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
Working Conditions
Light physical activity; ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Regular standing, walking, reaching, and data entry.
May involve short-term exposure to environments with temperatures as low as -40°C.
Occasional travel required (up to 15%).
