POSITION SUMMARY
Rotate amongst many tasks within the warehouse; Stuffer, Weigher, Bagger.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all plant, department and company safety rules and regulations and best practices
- Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Place scrap waste in appropriate containers
- Report to your supervisor any safety hazards
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
Stuffer:
- Insert poly into pillows to the predetermined weights
- Toss pillows onto conveyor line for sewer to close
- Sort/Return damaged covers to prep table
- Organize work area with proper inventory of items used
Weigher:
- Place pillow on scale to check weight is to specifications and notify supervisor if a problem exists
- Empty fiber out of damaged pillows
- Sort/Return damaged covers to the prep table
- Organize work area with proper inventory of items used
Bagger:
- Insert pillows into poly bag and seal bag according to specifications
- Toss pillow onto conveyor line / pad onto storage bench
- Organize work area with proper inventory of items used
Packer:
- Pack pillows into cartons and tape cartons to specifications
- Get pillows from the conveyor line / pads from the storage bench
- Press pillows down into the box, close the box flaps and tape the box
- Slide box to staging area
- Attach carton label to the box
- Stencil carton when needed
- Verify correct carton type, comparing carton number from packing information to number printed on carton
- Get empty cartons, fold and tape to make boxes
- Carry empty boxes to conveyor line
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS OR EDUCATION
- High school diploma, or equivalent preferred
- Previous work experience in a warehouse preferred
- Good physical strength, stamina, and ability to lift heavy weight materials
- Additional motion of the body includes ability to stay on feet for long periods of time, pushing, pulling, twisting both the neck and waist, and use of a step ladder
- Keen attention to detail and highest standard of accuracy
- Willingness to work in an environment with cardboard dust particles, and airborne filling material
- Positive attitude, self-starter, self-motivated, works both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
