POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager for Keelson Management has a broad overview and scope of concurrent projects, works with PMO and other stakeholders to set project goals and objectives. They are responsible for day to day managing of large-scale, cross-functional projects that create efficiencies and improvements to the business.They estimate project budgets, set project scope and schedules and finalize project plans. Project Managers provide leadership, guidance and support to project team, motivating them to hit project milestones. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, proactive, and solution-oriented, with a passion for ensuring the success of every project they lead.
Based on company guidelines and general Project Management methodology, independently plan and coordinate the successful execution of multiple, sometimes complex IT projects. Manage against the standard triple constraints of scope, schedule and cost while managing risk and ensuring quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Project Initiation & Planning
- Develop project charter / project scope and obtain buy-in from project stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of project methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall).
- Supporting the product owner in managing communications with stakeholders, managing customer’s. expectations for deliverables, and implementing an effective project governance system.
- Managing several concurrent projects.
- Define deadlines and budget of the project accordingly.
- Maintain status report of the project and also keep a record of the previous reports.
- Present status reports of the project to the leadership of the organization.
- Ensure each team member is fully engaged in the project with meaningful contribution.
- Help the team achieve a high level of performance and quality, holding teams accountable for their work, removing obstacles.
- Encourage a sustainable pace with high levels of quality for the team.
- Document risks and escalate in a timely manner to minimize impact to business.
- Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them.
- Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project.
- Communicating with executives or the board to keep the project aligned with their goals.
- Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change.
- Understanding project interdependencies account for those dependencies in planning.
- Update and provide input to the overall master project roadmaps.
- Act as an escalation point and work with project sponsors and decision makers to remove roadblocks.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Work overtime as required / assigned.
- Travel overnight as required.
