What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Superintendent position at Keen Project Solutions, LLC?
The Project Superintendent independently manages medium to large projects. They may also manage multiple small projects concurrently. This role is responsible for supervising all trade foremen, other superintendents, and subcontractors. The Project Superintendent must have excellent communication and field management skills.

PROTECT PEOPLE
- Conduct a daily inspection of the project site. Complete daily reports of the job site.
- Implement safety policies and procedures.
- Make safety a number one priority on the job site.
- Conduct work following OSHA regulations and Keen safety procedures. Ensure quality control standards are met throughout the project.
- Order first aid and other required safety suppliers before the beginning of job site work.
- Consider hazardous work when making a subcontract award decision.
- Communicate safety goals with owners, clients, subcontractors, foremen, superintendents, and employees.
- Present daily toolbox talks and safety meetings, as needed.
- Investigate safety incidents and/or violations promptly and contact appropriate personnel about any issues.
- Promote Keen’s safety culture at all times. Model a strong awareness of safety.
- Communicate with owners, clients, foremen, superintendents, and customers on job sites. Ensure that their questions are answered.
- Guide foremen and superintendents on the job site. Maintain a harmonious working environment between employees.
- Consult with appropriate personnel regarding revisions and changes to the project.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, owners, clients, foremen, superintendents, and other personnel by properly representing Keen Project Solutions.
- Resolve problems and conflicts when they arise by conducting meetings and using effective communication.
- Manage, schedule, and coordinate construction activities for the assigned job site. Maintain a detailed schedule for the project.
- Order supplies and materials needed to complete construction and schedule deliveries.
- Develop a project mobilization plan. Ensure the plan is safely followed until the completion of the project.
- Provide a completed review of the project to Senior Superintendent.
- Analyze supplies, employees, and processes needed for each project. Understand the costs associated with each.
- Make the best possible judgement for the project when issues arise.
- Understand efficient building methods to complete the project promptly and safely.
- Research and report new methods for completing construction efficiently. Implement these methods when appropriate.
- Seek out ways to improve Keen’s performance and exceed the customer’s expectations.
- Provide guidance and training when needed to improve efficiency on the job site.
- Encourage creativity among foremen, superintendents, and other employees.
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety.
- 10 years of construction supervisory experience, Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree although not required.
- Construction certifications and designations, beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR.
- Trade school, vocational school, or college education in the related field, preferred.
- Travel up to 10% or as needed, by air and ground.
- Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking.
- Frequently requires standing, fine dexterity, sitting, and handling.
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
- Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels.
- Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
- Must be able to work in cold/hot environments and on concrete floors.
- Occasionally requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching.
- Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking.
- Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
- Must be able to stand for extended durations.
