What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Bus Driver position at Keeneland Association Inc?
SUMMARY
Transport patrons on a preplanned route throughout Keeneland grounds during Race Meets (April & October), Sales Auctions (January, April, September, & November), and other events held at Keeneland throughout the year. This position requires applicants to have availability throughout the year, aside from racing and sales, to serve in this capacity, and often times with minimal notice (24 to 48 hours).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transport patrons and employees on a preplanned route according to a definitive schedule.
- Regulates heating and ventilation equipment of bus for comfort of passengers.
- Drives bus carefully and in compliance with traffic and safety regulations.
- Assumes responsibility for the safety of guests in loading, unloading and transporting them to and from designated points.
- Instructs guests in safety precautions and practices.
- Inspects and sweeps bus.
- Checks water, oil, gas and mechanical condition before leaving on run.
- Reports delays and accidents.
- Keeps operational records and makes simple reports.
- Reports defects, issues or areas of concern with vehicle to supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess, and maintains, current CDL licensing requirements, as well as medical requirements
- Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to operate a bus in a safe and economical manner.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions and to perform work requiring good physical condition.
- Ability to relate to guests and other Keeneland personnel.
- Ability to complete various forms and records including route sheets, incident and accident reports, etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to complete and pass training courses regarding transportation, highway, and bus safety rules and regulations.
LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Valid Kentucky Driver’s License and CDL license with passenger endorsement required.
A Kentucky Horse Racing Commission License is required for all track employees.
