Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Reading & Dyslexia Tutor to provide one-on-one tutoring for children with reading difficulties, including dyslexia. The ideal candidate will have experience in structured literacy approaches and a deep understanding of the Science of Reading. You will collaborate with families and assess students’ progress to tailor instruction to their needs.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized reading instruction based on the principles of the Science of Reading.
  • Use structured, multi-sensory approaches (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Barton, etc.).
  • Create engaging, student-centered lessons that target the specific needs of each child.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians.
  • Track student progress and adapt instruction as needed.
  • Provide progress reports to parents/guardians.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Literacy, or related field.
  • Experience working with children with reading difficulties, preferably dyslexia.
  • Training or certification in structured literacy programs (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading).
  • Strong knowledge of the Science of Reading and multi-sensory teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with students and their families.
  • Patience, empathy, and passion for helping students succeed.


Compensation:

Tutors are paid $30-$45 per hour dependent on training and experience.
