Position Overview
As a Floral Production Designer, you will be responsible for creating beautiful floral arrangements, assisting with event décor, and supporting the team in maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Your role will involve working closely with the Event Director, Floral Lead, and Production Manager to ensure smooth and effective execution of floral designs and event setups.
Responsibilities
- Create floral arrangements based on samples and formulas; prepare décor in-studio and on-site under the Event Director's guidance, including but not limited to bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, lifted arrangements, low arrangements, arches, chuppahs, installations, etc.
. - Follow directions from the Floral Lead or Floral Production Manager for any necessary changes throughout the production process.
- Perform basic floral assembly tasks such as taping, wiring, wrapping, packing, foaming, and prepping.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, ensuring safety in line with company standards.
- Assist with problem-solving both on-site and in-house as challenges arise.
- Support other departments as needed (Art, Faux Floral, Floral Prep, Holiday) and work effectively with your team to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in event floral design, especially in event décor.
- Knowledge of floral product quality and the ability to replicate designs.
- Ability to interpret pull sheets, pricing, and formulas.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle conflict.
- High attention to detail, organization, and excellent follow-through.
- Basic reading, writing, math skills, and familiarity with packing methods.
- Ability to use floral tools and equipment, with some tools potentially needing to be provided by you.
- Flexibility to work long shifts, including evenings and weekends, and travel as needed.

Pay and Benefits
Pay & Benefits | What You’ll Receive
- Hourly wage: $24 to $28, based on experience.
- Overtime pay will be provided for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek at 1.5x the regular rate of pay, in compliance with Illinois labor laws.
