Position Overview: The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order throughout the company’s physical facilities. This includes performing routine cleaning duties, ensuring key areas are sanitized, and supporting overall facility upkeep. The Maintenance Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the facility remains clean, safe, and presentable for employees, clients, and visitors. This position reports to the Vice President of Maintenance & Operations and may also receive direction from the General Manager and other department managers.
Responsibilities:
- Cleans, washes, dusts, vacuums all public interior and exterior areas and main production areas and offices of the facilities according to established cleaning schedules.
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, kitchens, cafeteria, and patio areas.
- Waxes floors according to schedule.
- Empties garbage according to established disposal standards. Cleans and sanitizes garbage bins.
- Places orders for supplies weekly; restocks supplies as needed.
- Makes suggestions for overall improvements and purchase of cleaning equipment.
- Communicates repair and maintenance needs.
- Policies are in place to ensure the grounds and facilities are clean and presentable.
- Works with Repair and Maintenance Technicians on projects in facilities.
- Maintains Event Director Boxes to ensure they are stocked with supplies according to established guidelines.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, ensuring that necessary materials (e.g., cleaning products, paper towels, toilet paper) are stocked and available.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and speak simple English.
- Strong verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with the Warehouse team.
- 1-3 years of facility housekeeping experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines, trade standards, and building codes is helpful.
- Good knowledge and ability to use tools and equipment that may include floor waxers, vacuum cleaners, hammer, screwdriver, hand drill, tape measure, dollies, and 8 foot and 12-foot ladders.
- Ability to handle electrical and welding equipment items safely.
- Ability to solve issues.
- Good communication skills.
- Good attention to detail and follow-through skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Pay & Benefits | What You’ll Receive
- Hourly wage: $18.00 to $20.00, based on experience.
- Overtime pay will be provided for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek at 1.5x the regular rate of pay, in compliance with Illinois labor laws.
