We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Optician to join our team. The Optician will be responsible for assisting patients in selecting, fitting, and adjusting eyewear according to their prescriptions. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of eyewear products, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for helping others improve their vision. Skills and Responsibilities:
- Interpret optical prescriptions optometrists prescribe to recommend eyewear and lenses.
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that meet their needs, preferences, and lifestyle.
- Take accurate measurements of patients' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fitting of eyewear. Using our cutting edge digital measuring device.
- Fit and adjust eyeglasses making necessary modification to ensure comfort and optimal vision
- Process and submit orders for prescription eyewear, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient concerns and questions about eyewear.
- Collaborate with optometrists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Manage administrative tasks such as patient records, billing, and insurance verification.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of optical terminology, frame styles, and lens types.
- Ability to operate optical equipment such as lensometers and pupillometers.
- Familiarity with insurance billing and claims processing (preferred)
While these qualifications are preferred, we do provide on site training for the right candidates.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
