Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of engineering work in the design and startup of PLC-controlled systems for manufacturing equipment, and to develop and install electrical and / or electronic designs for new and existing equipment as well as provide daily equipment support.
Position Duties and Responsibilities / Time Spent Performing Duties
- Develop, install, and modify manufacturing equipment control systems : 45%
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment using standardized root cause analysis techniques : 25%
- Support manufacturing plant VA / VE (Value Add / Value Engineering) : 15%
- Provide guidance and direction to other associates : 5%
- Train associates, develop schematics, deliver presentations, manage projects, etc. : 5%
- Other duties as assigned : 5%
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills)
4-year college degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience and educationKnowledge of control systems, mechanics, pneumatics, and factory floor equipment programming3 years of related work experience with high-volume, precision assembly processesKnowledge of computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job dutiesStrong mechanical aptitudePreferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills)
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering5 years related work experience in an industrial manufacturing settingExpert PLC programmer, Robots (Fanuc, Motoman, Yamaha, and Mitsubishi), Weber screwdriver, Nordson Spray System, Keyence Vision, LabVIEW, and Visual Basic programmingSkills and Abilities
