SUMMARY
The basic function of the Electronics Engineer is to augment the engineering team by developing systems and procedures to improve manufacturing efficiencies and to assist senior level engineers in product development.
This individual will be asked to implement electronic testing procedures throughout the manufacturing process to ensure product quality. They will also be tasked with reviewing systems designs and sourcing parts based on those designs.
At the junior level, most design work will be done cooperatively with a senior level engineer for training purposes. However, the ideal candidate is expected to be capable of designing complete systems without significant oversight or assistance by primarily focusing on hands-on work on the production floor while learning from senior engineers to gain expertise.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Junior Electronics Engineer is hired by and reports to the Electronics Engineering Manager in partnership with the CEO. No positions report to the Junior Electronics Engineer.
The Junior Electronics Engineer has no authority to hire, dismiss, transfer, enforce discipline and/or make other employment considerations.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Develop systems for maintaining product integrity by designing testing methods
- Assist in the assembly and testing of electronic components and sub-assemblies on the production line
- Collaborate with technicians to resolve production issues and optimize assembly processes
- Develop electronics for products and provide vendor sourcing for components
- Identify opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and cost reduction
- Be a part of continuous improvement initiatives to streamline production workflow
- Evaluate finished products and system for issues
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality control data and reports
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
EDUCATION
- HS diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e., Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes like soldering, assembly, and testing
- Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics and engineering drawings
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Experience working on electrical systems and embedded system design
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot
- Experience with part sourcing
- Organizational, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Use of precision tools and soldering equipment
- Good hand-eye coordination with strong motor skills
- Able to lift 45 pounds without assistance and 20 pounds overhead
- Physical stamina and strength are crucial to performing this work effectively
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Sitting often - at a desk, operating a computer
- Standing/walking sometimes - throughout the production facility
- Office environment is with AC
- The shop environment is without AC and can be hot/cold depending on weather
- Dress code is business casual: no tank tops, no shorts above the knee (shorts on casual days only)
- All employees are required to wear safety-toed shoes and eye protection while in the shop
COMPENSATION
- Exempt position; Pay range: $56,000 - $75,000 annually
- Final compensation will be determined and based on experience
- This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law
