What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Coach - Equine position at Keiser University 2?
Keiser University's Residential Campus in West Palm Beach is seeking an Equine Head Coach.
The Equine Head Coach will:
Be responsible for recruitment, maintaining roster size, practice planning, competition scheduling, and budget management of Keiser University's Equestrian Team program.
• Assist in the planning, organization and the on-going development of the athletic programming and activities of the program.
• Assist is the building of a cohesive and competitive program.
Collaborate with the university on budget development, purchasing, and equine center upkeep and planning.
Engage key stakeholders across all equine disciplines and associations to address existing and emerging equine related needs.
Represent the center to state and federal agencies, private organizations, partners, collaborators, and key industry groups.
Enhance additional national recognition and increased visibility to the university by highlighting the collaborative nature of the equine efforts on its campus.
Responsible for the herd health and ongoing training protocol of all university owned and boarded horses.
• Recruit academically and athletically qualified, full-time student-athletes to participate in the program.
• Promote the academic progress and graduation of student-athletes, including assisting with enforcement of a study program.
Assist in the training of students enrolled in any equine studies course where horsemanship, riding lessons, or any other hands-on activities are conducted.
• Abide by the rules and regulations of the league in which you will be competing.
Organize, prepare, attend and coach students for their participation in Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) competitions and drive students in a school vehicle to the events.
• Assist in negotiation of facilities rentals.
We expect the Head Coach to:
• Have a minimum of a high school or equivalent, but a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Have 1-3 years of advanced coaching experience. College coaching experience preferred.
• Have strong service-oriented skills and the ability to have an exceptional customer service attitude.
• Have strong communication and organizational skills and demonstrate the ability to work independently.
This is a full time position that requires day, evening, and weekend availability.
