The Position
We are looking for an orthodontic assistant who is reliable, professional, friendly, and values being part of a team. Our Assistants work closely with each other, as well as our Treatment Coordinators, Scheduling Coordinators, and Dr. Wong.
Assistants are responsible for completing each patient's appointment under the guidance of Dr. Wong, but will also be expected to make decisions independently, when appropriate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Greeting patients/seating them for their appointments, and ensuring that patients feel comfortable
- Building positive relationships with patients and their families
- Educating patients regarding appliances, oral hygiene, and technologies that our practice utilizes for their care
- Placing Invisalign attachments, brackets via indirect bonding, and other appliances
- fabricating essix retainers, ordering appliances, and preparing Invisalign template trays
- Entering detailed chart notes for each patient/appointment and ensuring proper follow-up, as needed
- Taking x-rays, facial and intraoral photos, impressions and intraoral/iTero scans
- update parents and guardians regarding their child's treatment progress
- cleaning/disinfecting operatories and sterilizing instruments
- preparing trays for upcoming appointments, verifying that necessary appliances have been received
- performing other tasks as needed/as assigned by Dr. Wong or Practice Director
This position is Monday - Thursday at a little over 36 hours weekly. We start our day at 7:30 am and see patients until 5:00 PM.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary depends on orthodontic assisting experience ($20 - $29 per hour)
