Job Responsibilities:

Set up and operate manual or semi-automatic welding machines that weld together parts of fabricated metal products, as specified by layouts, welding procedures, and operating charts.

• Weld cylindrical or irregular parts that may be clamped or otherwise positioned.
• Operate required machinery in the area.
• Understand proper quality weld standards, including slag removal.
• Visually examine welds for adherence to specifications; may grind welded surfaces.
• Position and clamp workpieces together or assemble them in jigs/fixtures.
• May operate other machine equipment to prepare components for welding.
• Help load trucks and containers and assist with preparing parts for shipments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Able to meet the following requirements:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Communicate effectively in English with team members (Speak and reading, writing ability required).
• Pass employer performance tests, including pre-employment drug screening.
• Possess welding experience.
• Have a solid understanding of welding equipment and accessories.
• Able to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality.
• Be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level, and square.
• Ability and willingness to follow directions and work independently with little or no supervision.
• Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.

Physical Requirements:

The job requires:

• The ability to sit or stand for 8 to 10 hours at a time.
• Lift 25 lbs. repetitively.
• Exposure daily to continuous noise from machines.
• Exposure to intense light and hot materials.
