Kelaca is looking for a Senior Project Manager for our client partner in Spartanburg, SC . The Senior Project Manager leads our client’s major projects. You will lead a cross-functional team of consultants, contractors, suppliers, and associates in the planning and execution of key technology, infrastructure, and process improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities :
Quality
- Sets the expectation that all project related tasks are done right the first time. Clearly communicates the plan, schedule, and deliverables to avoid mistakes.
- Works closely with the Quality Department so that project related activities do not impact ISO9001 certification.
Delivery
Works closely with executive management to develop and implement the plan to complete the project successfully.Closely manage all members of the cross functional team to ensure the project is safely completed on time.Monitors the project progress and provides regular updates to all the stakeholders. Communicates setbacks and finds solutions to overcome them.Has ultimate responsibility for the new site / equipment operational readiness by the committed deadline.Cost / Lean
Has ultimate responsibility for the project’s successful completion : under budget and on time.Ensures that the site design and equipment layout support lean principles : minimize waste in all its forms, including transportation and motion.Identify and address the root causes of project cost overruns. Closely manage contractors, consultants and suppliers to ensure the project stays within budget.Safety
Leads by example, setting a clear standard and expectations in terms of safety. Makes sure that all members of the project cross functional team understand that safety is a key component in achieving the successful completion of the project. Ensures that all team members understand that safety will not be sacrificed to meet deadlines.Establishes clear accountability for housekeeping from all team members during the construction period and beyond.Maintains compliance with EH&S policies and government regulations within the assigned project areas. Holds accountable all project personnel for any safety violations.People Development
Establishes clear metrics and holds the cross functional team members accountable.Leads by example : Ensures that team members are always treated with dignity and respect.Recognizes that our people are our biggest asset. Develops innovative solutions to obstacles preventing the successful completion of the project.Encourages the cross functional team members to think outside the box when tackling unexpected issues.Skills & Experience :
Bachelor of Science in engineering, industrial management, or business management; 15 years in project management with at least 5 years managing large capital / green field startup projects in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong project management experience : Has previously managed large construction projects, including oversight of construction company, contractors and all equipment vendors. Has documented history of holding vendors and suppliers accountable to ensure that the project is completed on time and under budget.Strong leadership and sense of urgency. Has documented history of making decisions to ensure his / her projects are successfully completed.Understands state permit requirements for large construction projects.Previous project management software experience required.Preferred Experience :
Sterilization project experience.Operations management experience.ISO experience.Competencies :
