The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with industry standards (OPWDD, OCFS, SED, and DOH) and organizational policies. This role involves monitoring performance metrics, conducting audits, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Role responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversees the Assurance and annual maintenance of the Kelberman library of policies and standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
- Responsible for the oversight, implementation, reporting, and monitoring of the Quality Management Plan.
- Assists programs in establishing, measuring and analyzing quality metrics and ensuring process and monitoring of customer satisfaction surveys.
- Develops an annual Quality Work Plan and completes quality reviews.
- Works with programs on the development of Quality Improvement plans as appropriate and necessary based on quality audits.
- Accomplishes quality assurance objectives by monitoring, reviewing, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Provides training to staff on Quality Initiatives, assists with Compliance, HIPAA and Incident Management as assigned.
- Assists in the coordination and training of staff on OPWDD DQI audit surveys of Certified sites.
- Advocate for the people we support and understand the compliance of all OPWDD, DOH, OCFS, and SED policies and regulations.
- Models, promotes, and supports person centered outcomes and performance values with programs.
- Validates quality processes by establishing service specifications and quality attributes as a result of regulatory review.
- Prepares quality documentation and board reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain and regularly compile program data and documentation to be reviewed by supervisor as required.
- Contributes to a positive work environment through collaborative teamwork and positive communication in alignment with Kelberman’s culture, values and mission.
- Demonstrate excellent work attendance by being punctual and reliable for all scheduled shifts and meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards.
- Adhere to mandatory reporting requirements and HIPAA laws.
- Provides backup to Compliance and Incident Management departments which can include conducting and investigation or on-call coverage of the Incident Management telephone line.
- Foster and teach the Rights and Responsibilities with an emphasis on being person centered and customer focused by offering choices to ensure that people are supported and satisfied with the services that they receive.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business, healthcare, finance) preferred.
- Up to 3 years of experience in compliance, quality assurance, or auditing, preferably within the I/DD and OPWDD industry.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality management systems.
- Knowledge of regulations for oversight regulatory bodies of Kelberman; minimally OPWDD and Division of Quality Improvement (DQI).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills; proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies. Highest level of integrity, excellent judgment, and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
