What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Programming Engineer position at Kele Companies?
AC Controls (a Kele Company) is in search of a Controls Engineer who will be responsible for configuring, programming, starting up, and commissioning custom control systems based on plans and customer specifications. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting and re-configuring defective configurations, performing scheduled maintenance, performing warranty work, providing phone and field technical support, and suggesting system improvements, modifications, etc. to existing systems.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Work within the following Configures/Programs:
- Boiler and boiler plant control systems, both BMS and combustion control
- Chiller plant control systems
- Kiln and furnace control systems
- Other process control systems
- Batch processes
- SCADA systems
- HMI systems
- Work with various hardware, including Honeywell HC900 Controller, Honeywell ControlEdge PLC, Honeywell LX Controller, Allen-Bradley PLCs, as well as other Industrial Controllers
- Utilize various software, including Honeywell Experion HS software, Redlion Crimson software, Iconics software, and other SCADA software systems
- Coordinate design and programming activities with other departments
- Assist in testing control system configurations
- Assist activities to validate and commission control systems during factory acceptance test (FAT)
- Provide on-site training to customers as needed
- Suggest system improvements, modifications, etc. to the Project Manager
- Assist in sales and proposal development
- Perform warranty work
- Complete documentation for assigned tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of related work experience
- Two to four years of undergraduate work, associate's degree or applicable certification; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to learn and use company software
- Ability to tune various control loops to meet control system requirements
- Ability to use Digital Volt/Ohm Meters and transmitter simulators
- Understanding of Ethernet Network Systems and Interfacing Control Systems to these Networks
- Proficiency with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs as applied to Utility or Process controls at a minimum and Honeywell HC900 a plus
- Skills with any HMIs and SCADA to demonstrate the ability to learn others. Redlion and Iconics experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 70 pounds
