Position Overview:
Our client is looking for a Vice President of Valuation & Portfolio Management. This pivotal role will be responsible for leading and advancing our client’s real estate private equity valuation and portfolio management function by collaborating with senior leaders to strategy and process. The position will collaborate with key stakeholders in Asset Management, Financial Reporting, and Capital Raising to prepare quarterly valuations and performance analyses and maintain financial models for each of our client’s funds and investments. The ideal candidate has an ownership mindset, exceptional modeling skills, and relevant experience in valuation or portfolio management. The ability to transition between strategic, big-picture thinking and the detail-orientated focus required for precise accuracy is crucial to success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the valuation function, driving evolution and technological innovation to enhance the accessibility of portfolio information.
- Track and analyze investment and fund performance, serving as the trusted advisor for all historical and prospective fund information.
- Optimize and own financial models for each of the funds and investments, including historical and projected cash flows, for valuations and performance analyses.
- Manage quarterly valuations and performance analyses for the portfolio.
- Oversee fund-level liquidity analyses, communicating with senior management to determine investor capital calls, distributions, and dividends.
- Support Asset Management team on strategic investment decisions within the portfolio, including refinancing and disposition analyses.
- Provide quantitative perspective to Capital Raising & Investor Services team for ad hoc investor requests and during fundraising/investor due diligence periods.
Qualifications:
- 6-8 years of relevant real estate portfolio management or valuation experience
- Track record of optimizing financial models and processes to drive efficiencies and create value
- Ability to own valuation process and work seamlessly across various stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of real estate investments
- Excellent cash flow modeling and demonstrated understanding of financial concepts including IRR and NPV
- Strong strategic thinking skills and detail orientation
- Excellent proficiency in Excel and other portfolio management tools
- Argus or other software experience required
