Job Title: Career and Technical Education (CTE) Practicum Intern for High School Student

                                                   

Wage/Hour Status: Seasonal/Nonexempt

Funding Source: CTE

Pay Grade: $10 Hour

 

Department/School: Career and Technical Education

Function: Educational Support

Reports to: Director of Career and Technology Education

SUMMARY:

 

The primary purpose is to offer practical work experience in a particular occupation to Keller Independent School District high school students in a Career and Technical Education pathway. Internships strengthen resumes by giving students visible work experience.

  • Model KISD core organizational beliefs and values; perform duties effectively and efficiently for the purpose of supporting and contributing to high student
  • Provide program support and service delivery; communicate effectively within and across teams and participate in cross-functional work groups.
  • Maintain a commitment to the District mission; model District expectations through personal leadership and actively support the efforts of others to achieve District goals.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

 

Assessment

  • Assist in organizing and setting up district-wide CTE and industry-related events
  • Coordinate with teachers to fulfill and deliver orders to classrooms
  • Provide administrative support, such as organizing files, maintaining records, and preparing reports
  • Assist in coordinating and facilitating guest speaker sessions and campus tours
  • Support district CTE staff with any projects or tasks
  • Support the CTE department in social media and marketing efforts, including creating content, managing social media accounts, and promoting

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education/Certification:

  • Currently enrolled in a high school practicum program
  • Good Academic Standing

Experience:

  • Strong interest in education, career development, and business-related fields

  • Basic skills related to the area of internship focusing on student (CTE) academies
  • Strong communication skills and punctuality

Tools/Equipment Used:

  • Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Posture:

  • Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion:

  • Frequent walking; grasping/squeezing, writ flexion/extension, repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting:

  • Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment:

  • Work to be completed on-site from assigned school or building; regular exposure to noise and computer monitors
  • No remote work

Mental Demands:

  • Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress work; prolonged or irregular hours
