Our client, an innovative technology company in the defense industry, is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join their executive team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead financial strategy for a growing organization developing cutting-edge technology solutions for the government/defense sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop long-term financial strategies aligned with company vision and growth objectives
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insightful financial analysis and identifying opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth
- Oversee all financial operations including government contract management, DCAA/DCMA compliance, and rate management
- Develop and implement financial models to assess investment opportunities, pricing strategies, and potential acquisitions
- Provide regular financial performance updates to the executive team and board of directors, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial trends
- Lead and develop a team of three finance professionals (2 Accountants, 1 Director of Finance & Compliance)
- Ensure compliance with all federal regulations related to government contracting
- Minimum 8 years of progressive financial experience in senior leadership roles
- Proven track record of executive leadership in finance within the defense industry or government contracting sector
- Expertise with DCAA and DCMA regulations and compliance
- In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Experience with rate management and cost center standards in government contracting
- Strong strategic financial planning capabilities with demonstrated success implementing financial policies
- Experience managing financial operations in complex, highly regulated environments
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- U.S. Citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility)
Preferred:
- Professional certification: CPA, CDFM (Certified Defense Financial Manager), or equivalent
- Experience with software or technology companies serving defense/government clients
- Knowledge of labor allocation in government contracting environments
- Understanding of emerging technologies in the defense sector a plus, but not required
- Competitive base salary range: $200,000 - $250,000
