Commercial Equipment Sales Specialist with Leadership Track

Location: Remote position (Chicago-based company)

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 annually, plus commission

Experience Required: 2-5 years in sales

About The Role

We are seeking ambitious Sales Professionals to join our expanding team selling commercial equipment including gondola shelving units, transformers, and commercial refrigeration systems to businesses throughout the Chicago area and beyond. This remote position serves as an entry point to our leadership pipeline, with top performers being groomed to head our divisional operations across the United States as we scale.

Key Responsibilities In Detail

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients across retail, grocery, convenience store, and industrial sectors
  • Develop and execute personalized outreach strategies using email, phone, video conferencing, and social selling techniques
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers at client organizations
  • Serve as the trusted advisor for clients throughout their equipment purchasing journey
  • Implement strategic account management plans for existing clients to maximize retention and expansion opportunities

Product Expertise & Consultative Selling

  • Become a subject matter expert in our complete product line, including technical specifications, applications, and competitive advantages
  • Perform detailed needs assessments to understand client requirements for gondola shelving configurations, electrical transformer specifications, and refrigeration system requirements
  • Conduct virtual showroom tours and product demonstrations using our 3D modeling software
  • Create customized solutions that address specific client pain points and operational challenges
  • Collaborate with our engineering team to develop tailored product modifications when standard offerings don't meet client needs

Sales Process Management

  • Develop comprehensive sales proposals with detailed product specifications, pricing structures, and implementation timelines
  • Navigate complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Negotiate contracts while maintaining profit margins and relationship integrity
  • Forecast sales accurately using our CRM system to support company planning and inventory management
  • Analyze sales performance data to continuously refine your approach and maximize conversion rates

Post-Sale Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with our logistics, installation, and customer support teams to ensure seamless delivery and setup
  • Conduct post-installation follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and address any concerns
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing accounts
  • Document case studies and success stories to support marketing efforts
  • Collect and relay customer feedback to our product development team

Leadership Development

  • Mentor new sales team members and help develop their product knowledge and sales techniques
  • Lead special projects to demonstrate strategic thinking and operational capabilities
  • Contribute to quarterly business reviews and help shape divisional growth strategies
  • Develop expertise in specific vertical markets to position yourself for specialized division leadership


Requirements

  • 2-5 years of proven sales experience, preferably in commercial equipment, retail fixtures, or related fields
  • Strong remote communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management abilities
  • Experience with CRM software and digital sales tools
  • Problem-solving mindset with ability to understand client needs
  • Technical aptitude to learn product specifications and applications
  • Leadership potential with strategic thinking abilities
  • Vision for scaling operations in new markets
