SUMMARY :
The Inventory Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of the District's Inventory System. The Inventory Technician will supervise the daily activities of the Maintenance Department inventory to ensure safe and efficient receipt, storage, retrieval, and distribution of District supplies and assets.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Inventory
Oversees receipt of shipments; process receiving, discrepancy, and damage reports as needed.Oversees storage of all maintenance department supplies, equipment, designated records, and consumable materials.Oversees maintenance of computerized inventory records.Maintain appropriate stock levels of supplies.Develop procedures and forms for the requisitioning of materials / supplies by District personnel.Interpret and fill requisitions for stock items; verify accuracy of orders pulled.Maintain a safety program for all inventory control employees.Maintain safety and fire prevention equipment as required by law and District policy.Analysis and Collaboration
Recommend additions and deletions from the inventory as needed.Coordinate with district staff the receiving of furnishings and supplies for new facilities.Develop procedures for the effective distribution of departmental mail, supplies, and materials.Establish and train all inventory control personnel on security and safety requirements.Establish safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, carrying, etc.; ensure daily safety inspections are performed as required.Establish security procedures.Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any correctable situations to supervisory personnel immediately.Under the direction of the supervisor, support the direction of the work of assigned employees.Other
Ensure all controlled areas are locked at all times when not occupied; control access to the inventory storage facilitator and vehicles as required.Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles according to prescribed standards; follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, carrying, etc.Policy, Reports, and Law
