Description : Functions :

  • Act as General Sales Manager of New and Used Sales Department.
  • Responsible for New and Used Department.
  • Responsible and held accountable for the successful operation of the sales department and sales personnel.

Relationships :

  • Reports to Vice President of Sales and General Manager
  • Supervises Sales Managers and Sales Consultants
  • Responsibilities and Authority :

    General

  • Hold Sales Managers accountable for their assigned duties and responsibilities within the sales department.
  • Maintain and promote customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that all customers are met and greeted promptly and directed to sales staff.
  • Adhere to the established standards for customer treatment.
  • Build, train, and maintain a sales organization that is aware of customer needs.
  • Manage and control the non-confrontational sales system.
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
  • Sales

  • Insure profitability of the sales department through the sale of vehicles, Finance and Insurance, and other profit centers.
  • Maintain and supervise the non-confrontational sales process and all sales forms.
  • Learn and maintain appraisal procedures in a fair and equitable manner that is consistent with dealership policy and in line with competitive practices.
  • Keep abreast of changes in competition and market conditions.
  • Learn and maintain complete knowledge of current new and used inventories and availability.
  • Have complete and thorough knowledge of competitive products.
  • Set monthly and yearly goals with sales staff.
  • Maintain adequate floor coverage.
  • Order all new vehicles in accordance with the market demand and customer need.
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
  • Inventory Management

  • Full control of the ordering and stocking of new car inventory.
  • Responsible for all new car dealer trades including but not limited to managing dealer trades, approving dealer trades and how they are structed (how we trade for them), teaching them the best practices when doing a dealer trade, holding other managers accountable when they are involved in dealer trades and coaching the managers if a dealer trade is not handled to our expectation level.
  • Coordinate with lot porters how the inventory will be displayed each month, merchandise the vehicles according to current incentives (i.e., hang tags), and ensure show room vehicles are showroom ready and the proper mix.
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
  • SFE / EBE Programs

  • Strategize with general manager to hit the various components of both SFE and EBE.
  • Design and align marketing and advertising campaigns around current months’ SFE objective.
  • Monitor the various components of EBE with the General Manager on a weekly basis to ensure we are optimizing our EBE payouts.
  • Implement any necessary policies and procedures to ensure each component of EBE is hit each quarter.
  • Help manage Voice of the Customer and Hot cases whenever necessary.
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
  • Marketing / Advertising

  • Create a go-to market plan.
  • Website slides on a monthly basis (sometimes more frequently depending on incentive dates and changes).
  • Email blasts / campaigns.
  • In charge of Facebook ads and presence.
  • Facebook giveaways to increase presence and followers.
  • Design ads / specials for media and online campaigns.
  • Must have GM approval on all expenses pertaining to marketing / advertising.
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
  • Confirm all appointments.
  • Make sure sales consultants’ complete task.
  • Managers must manage sales consultants.
  • Hold them accountable.
  • Managers must complete their task.
  • Monitor unanswered emails.
  • Create campaigns with the BDC.
  • Monitor and oversee service lane VEP process.
  • Develop and implement ways to increase and improve our current process so we generate more opportunities, vehicle sales, and acquire inventory from the service lane.
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
  • Human Resources, Training, and Development

  • Maintain a consistent adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular sales staff meetings.
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, and assist in training in accordance with company policy.
  • Conduct monthly sales staff reviews.
  • Conduct yourself in an ethical and moral fashion at all times.
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
  • Interdepartmental Relations

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with other departments to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with management and other department heads.
  • Assist in Financial services office with client introduction.
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
  • Administrative Duties

  • Approve timecards in Paycom for the sales department.
  • Approve PTO requests for the sales department (excluding sales managers).
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
  • Requirements : Qualifications

    High School diploma or the equivalent. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Valid instate drivers’ license. Professional personal appearance. Exceptional communication skills. Must have prior experience in the automobile industry.
