What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Tom Kelley Cadillac Service Porter position at Kelley Automotive Group LLC?
Functions: Move cars between service aisle, shop, and parking lot. Wash vehicles when service work is complete. Assist Loaner Department and follow the check-in process.
Relationships: Reports to and takes direction from the General Manager, Service Manager, and Sales Assistant/Loaner Car Manager.
Responsibilities and Authorities:
- Greet customers in a courteous manner, “Welcome to Kelley (dealership).”
- Ask customer if they have a check in time, who their Service Advisor is, and if they would like a complimentary beverage.
- Advise Service Advisor they have a customer and what the make of the car is.
- Check in loaner vehicles using the proper procedure.
- Inspect all loaner vehicles upon return.
- Make sure all loaner vehicles are damage free, vacuumed 100%, and washed if necessary.
- Maintain loaner fleet that are not in use and make sure they are ready to be loaned out.
- Responsible for using the valet procedure weather pending.
- Direct customers to remain in their vehicles until they are able to drive up to the designated check-in area.
- Assist customers out of their vehicles.
- Responsible for putting a seat cover on the customer’s seat while the customer is still in service, make sure all vehicles get mats, washer fluid, 100 % vacuumed, and alignment checked (including battery and tires checked).
- Keep service aisle clean and neat.
- Keep service lane floor swept, mopped, and floor cleaner machine utilized when needed.
- Continuously walk through the Customer Lounge and maintain the area.
- Advise Management of any safety concerns; use wet floor signs as needed.
- Bring cars swiftly and safely to service aisle for delivery to customer.
- Drive service delivery van as needed by Service Manager.
- Empty trash and provide cleaning support for the technicians.
- Put vacuum hoses away at the end of the day.
- Put old tires away in the designated trailer.
- Throw away all cups, paper, and other items in the trash and take to the dumpster.
- Replace outside trash bags.
- Fill all washer jugs.
- All service vehicles and rentals are to be out of the service drive at the end of the day.
- Shuttles need to be parked and first in line by exit door.
- Maintain carwash stickers for Kelley service customers.
- Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
Qualifications:
Able to read and comprehend instructions and information. Valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Must be at least 21 years or older. Good judgment in all aspects of the job is key. Must be able to perform without a supervisor directing each and every action-a “self-starter” personality.
Working Conditions:
This is a physically demanding position. Will have to sit, stand, crouch, and walk six to eight hours per shift. Will drive vehicles. High pressure job to provide prompt service, safely. Will be exposed to noise, hot, cold, dust, vibration, fumes and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly in a shift.
