What You'll Do
Under the direct supervision of the Controller, this position will assist in record keeping, processing financial transactions, and supporting of the Accounting department and Firm personnel. The Accounting Clerk should be familiar with accounting procedures and principles, and have strong computer and communication skills. They should also be able to multitask and manage their time will. Main duties include:
- Record financial transactions in QuickBooks online
- Track company expenses and credit balances
- Ensure payments are made on time
- File invoices
- Pursue late payments
- Maintain financial filing systems
- Provide accounting and clerical support to accounting department
- Research, track, and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Obtains and organizes W-9s from vendors
- Receive and record cash and makes deposits into multiple bank accounts
- Prints weekly check run for client cost and operating account
- Maintains various accounting reports
- Other administrative duties as assigned by the Controller
Required Competencies
- At least 2 years Accounting experience is REQUIRED
- Law firm experience highly preferred
- Quickbooks online, Excel, Word preferred
- Law firm case management experience, especially Filevine, a strong plus
- Accuracy and Detail Orientation
- Ability to prioritize work
- Ability to work well without constant supervision
- Confidentiality
- Associates degree in Accounting a plus
