Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Help with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients’ health conditions.
- Assist with mobility and physical activities, including transferring clients safely.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health status.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client privacy.
- Support clients with memory care needs, providing specialized attention as required.
- Collaborate with nursing home staff, hospice care teams, and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care, long-term care, or hospice care is preferred.
- Knowledge of CPR techniques and emergency response procedures is a plus.
- Familiarity with patient care systems and documentation practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
- Certification in CPR or willingness to obtain certification is desirable.
