This is a full-time, grant-funded administrative position. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8 : 00 a.m. – 5 : 00 p.m. Evening and weekend hours may be required for job-related meetings and events, as needed by the program and the College. RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following See job duties below. Position Summary The Career Coach provides outreach, intake, advising, enrollment support, coaching, counseling, and retention services to students and participants enrolled in the College’s Kellogg Advanced Manufacturing Industry (KAMI) 4.0 grant-funded project. This position is critically important in serving incumbent workers identified by DENSO and MAGNA CCMI to provide them with skills required to advance within our employer partners’ internal career ladders. Additionally, we will work with the Blue Oval Battery Park – Michigan (BOBP-MI) team to identify individuals within the KCC service area, including underserved communities to complete new hire and incumbent worker training. The Career Coach helps students navigate the academic and employment landscape while providing wrap-around coaching and supportive services that lead to academic success and completion, job placement, and ongoing job retention. This position serves a very important delivery role in the College’s KAMI 4.0 Program, which expands job-training programs into other in-demand manufacturing sectors.
We are hiring for two positions one based out of Battle Creek at the Regional Manufacturing Technology Center (RMTC) in addition to providing support at all locations, including the Eastern Academic Center (EAC in Albion), Fehsenfeld Center (Hastings), and Grahl Center (Coldwater). The other position will be based out of Albion at our Eastern Academic Center and will also serve all campus locations. In-person support at any of the regional centers may be needed occasionally, based on student, program, and / or College needs.
Please note that this is a temporary grant-funded position through June 30, 2026 , with the possibility of extension after the grant-funded project. Physical Demands The job responsibilities are performed in an office area and presentation venues. Travel by car required. The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as independent mobility between work areas, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 – 45 pounds). Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration. Proposed Salary According to the Kellogg Community College Hay Administrative Compensation program, the 2024-2025 annual salary range for a Professional 1 position, $48,823 to $57,437 to start.
