What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Supervisor position at Kellogg Company?
As Safety Supervisor, you will support the Health and Safety efforts of the EHS Department in the implementation and maintenance of comprehensive health, safety, and wellness programs at the plant level. You will be responsible for performing worksite walk-through assessments to observe employee work processes to ensure we always have a safe and healthy working environment. As well as support programs that assist the facility in achieving corporate safety goals.
HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Compliance Champion – Assist in tracking, reporting and analyzing safety performance and implement corrective action as necessary. Support incident investigations and development/execution of corrective actions. Assist in accurate and timely preparation, maintenance and submission of all records required by the company and regulatory agencies.
- Partnerships – Assist EHS Manager in the compliance of the plant’s safety program with all local, state and federal safety regulations as well as Kellogg Company Policy. Manage compliance with safety and loss prevention programs. Partner with EHS Manager to support corporate Health and Safety audit program requirements and ensure audit findings are resolved.
- Continuous Improvement – Identify and implement new ideas, technologies or processes to strengthen employee safety. Support the development, documentation, review and revision of safety training programs. Perform safety activities in evaluating, designing, implementing and monitoring Employee Safety Programs, policies and procedures to ensure site is in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Worksite Audits – You will perform audits of records to ensure completeness, accuracy and relevancy. Perform work environment monitoring to ensure a safe and health environment. Manage inventory of required safety equipment/supplies. Design health controls of actual and potentially hazardous conditions in the work environment.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
- Bachelor’s Degree in safety or related discipline
- 2-3 years relevant work experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize handling multiple projects at a given time
- Ability to physically access all areas of the plant; periods of walking and standing; accessible on a 24/7 basis in order to handle on-call responsibilities
